Myagdi expatriates in HongKong donate 3.3Mln



BABIYACHAUR: Expatriate Nepalese have collected Rs. 3.3 million for the education of children with disability in Myagdi district.

They collected the fund through cultural programme in Hong Kong for the blind resource classes in Gyanodaya Secondary School of Piple, Mauwaphant and Pulachaur-based Baljagriti Primary School and deaf classes in Dhaulagiri Secondary School in Singa by people of Myagdi living in Hong Kong for jobs.

Treasurer of Myagdi Overseas Nepalese Association (MONA) Hong Kong Karna Pun informed this at a press meet organised in Beni.

In the cultural programme that included panche baja and dances, Rs. 4,355,381 was collected and Rs. 1,055,381 was the expenditure, said Pun and informed that Rs. 1.1 million each will be provided to the three schools.

MONA Hong Kong Chairman Dal Sherpunja said a revolving fund will be set up for the disabled classes.
