No objection even if the constitution is drafted from the CA:Gajurel

Kathmandu, September 14.  CPN-Maoist’s Vice Chairman CP Gajurel has clarified that his party will have no objection even if the constitution is drafted from the Constitution Assembly (CA). The alliance led by CPN-Maoist , which had boycotted the CA elections last year, has been pressing for a round-table political conference.

Speaking at the interaction program organized by the Reporter’s Club Nepal on Sunday, Gajurel has said that since the political parties have agreed to conduct an all-party political conference as demanded and settle the contentious issues through it, his party won’t object if the new constitution is drafted from CA or from the conference itself.

Speaking at the program presided by the Reporters’ Club Nepal’s president Rishi Dhamala, Gajurel has also remarked that the proposed all-party political conference would serve as an ‘ice-break’ in the Nepali politics. He added-“The all-party political conference is a good sign for the nation,”.

Likewise, Gajurel further said that conclusion of the peace process, forging consensus on contentious issues of constitution and discussing the other important issues of national politics would be the agenda of the all-party political conference . Similarly, Gajurel informed that the participants from their party in the all-party conference would be announced on Monday.

Speaking in a different context, Gajurel said that the former king Gyanendra Shah’s participation in the conference is next to impossible. He stated that the conference is only between the political parties and former king Gyanendra not having any party, is not liable to attend the conference.

In the different note, Gajurel has ruled out of party unification with Prachanda led UCPN-Maoist. He added,” We have not such agendas for party unity with UCPN-M this time. “
