First meeting of the HLPC scheduled for today

Kathmandu, October 11. HLPC first meeting tomorrow is scheduled for today . The parties have agreed to form a 15-member HLPC with three members each from NC, UML, UCPN-M and Madhesi Front; one member each from RPP, CPN-ML and one member representing fringe parties involved in the people’s movement.

The HLPC has been mandated to conclude the remaining tasks of the peace process. Dahal has invited leaders of the these parties for the first meeting of the HLPC to be held at 4:00 pm in Singha Durbar.

Senior leader Baburam Bhattarai and Vice-chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha will attend the meeting from the UCPN-M besides Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

Chairman K P Oli, senior leaders Madhav Nepal and Jhala Nath Khanal will be attending the meeting from the UML.

Prime Minister and Party President Sushil Koirala, senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and Vice-President Ram Chandra Paudel will represent the NC; and Bijay Gachchhadar, Mahantha Thakur and Upendra Yadav will represent the Madhesi Front. Chairman Surya Bahadur Thapa from RPP and General Secretary C P Mainali from CPN-ML will also be attending the meeting.
