PM Koirala says -won’t quit until new constitution

Kathmandu, October 19 . Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has said that he won’t resign from his PM post until the country gets a new constitution.

During a meeting with Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee Chairman Baburam Bhattarai at his residence in Baluwatar on Sunday morning,  PM Koirala said drafted by the deadline, Koirala clarified that he would continue his PM post until the statute was drafted.

45-minute long meeting, CPDCC Chairman Bhattarai requested the PM to take part in the meeting of the political parties called to forge consensus on the disputed issues of the new constitution.

Differences persist among the parties over power-sharing between the prime minister and the president and the number of provinces in the federal set-up—disputes that led to the dissolution of the first CA in 2012.

Three parties have reached an understanding to continue inter-party negotiations to find consensus on disputed issues of the constitution writing process by the end of October and initiate voting on contentious issues if the efforts go futile.
