Head of the state and government of SAARC member reached Dhulikhel



Kathmandu, November 27. Heads of state and government of Saarc member countries have reached Dhulikhel in Kavre district for a retreat on Thursday.

All the VVIPs, except Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, were flown by Nepal Army helicopters. Modi flew on an Indian Air Force helicopter which he brought with himself in Kathmandu.

Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, however, is not present in the retreat.

The premiers from eight Saarc nations, their families, and foreign ministers will stay at the at the Dwarika’s Dhulikhel Resort where they will discuss Saarc agendas as well as bilateral issues in an informal setting over breakfast and lunch.

Retreat is a unique tradition of Saarc Summit where leaders hold private, unofficial bilateral and multilateral talks in a relaxed atmosphere.
The VVIPs will return to Hotel Soaltee at around 2 pm later on today and take part in the closing ceremony of the regional meet. After the closing ceremony, they will take part in a dinner reception organised by Nepali President Ram Baran Yadav later at 6 pm.

Indian PM Modi, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai and Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa will  reach TIA will return home today itself after taking part in the dinner.
