Swine flu claims life in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU, March 1: A woman lost her life due to swine flu in Kathmandu on Saturday.

A 50-year-old woman of Chhetrapati, Kathmandu breathed her last during the course of treatment at the Bagbazaar-based Kathmandu Model Hospital yesterday.

The Epidemiology and Disease Control Division, however, confirmed the death of the woman only on Sunday. She had been receiving treatment in the hospital for the past 15 days after she complained of high fever, cough, throat pain, nausea, vomiting and sporadic diahhroea.

This is the first case that the swine flu claimed a life in the nation this year. It has been learnt that as many as 30 people have been suffering from the virus across the nation.
