Helambu Marathon Festival will held in Sindhupalchowk

MELAMCHI: March 4: The Helambu Marathon Festival is going to be held in Sindhupalchok district from March 21 with an objective of promoting the touristy site, Helambu, as well as to attract domestic and foreign tourists.

The Himalayan Sports Club will organise the festival where 200 people in and out of the country will participate.

The full marathon, to be started from Shermathan of Keule, will conclude after reaching the same place after making a round of the whole Helambu area, beyond the rim of Kathmandu Valley.

The competition is of the highest prize amount in the district so far. Different events including five-kilometer race and mountain bike will be held under the competition. Campaigner of the Festival, Jimi Lama, said that the Helambu Marathon Festival-2015 will help promote culture and religion of Helambu area.

The Festival will also help promote the tourism site as foreign nationals will also participate in it.
