UCPN (Maoist) leadership criticized in the Parliamentary Party meeting



Kathmandu, July 3: The lawmakers of the UCPN (Maoist) have criticized its leadership in today’s Parliamentary Party (PP) meeting held in the Constituent Assembly building at New Baneshower, Kathmandu.

They have criticized the leadership for their arbitrary act of making agreements, including the recent 16-point agreement, with the ruling parties as opposed to the party’s past consensus and agreement.

The lawmakers argued that their party’s leadership ought to abide by the previous pacts, agreements while promulgating the constitution as the previous pacts, including the Peace Accord, were the integral part of the process.

According to Lawmaker Daljit BK Shreepali, today’s meeting also saw deliberations on the constitution drafting process, upcoming programmes of the government and the upcoming fiscal year 2072-73 BS budget the government was submitting to the Legislature-Parliament in few days.

Presented in the meeting were Chairperson of the UCPN (Maoist), Pushpakamal Dahal, Vice-Chair Narayankaji Shrestha, chief whip Girirajmani Pokharel and the deputy-leader of the Party, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi who informed the lawmakers about the strategies and the programme the Party was going to adopt.

On the occasion, UCPN (leader) Chair Dahal also admitted that the recent pact was made with the ruling parties in compulsion to save the achievements of the past.

He also informed the lawmakers that the ruling parties were urged to introduce new programmes, policies and budget in line with the previous pacts made with UCPN (Maoist). RSS
