White Monastery holds prayers for Koirala’s eternal peace



Kathmandu, Feb 10: The White Monastery based in Phoolbari of Bauddha today held Shantipath (peace prayers) at the local Dashrath Stadium wishing for eternal peace to the departed soul of former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala.

Former PM Koirala, a patient of chronic bronchitis and cancer, succumbed to the respiratory disease, at 12:50 am Tuesday. Rituals like ‘Shantakrodh Path’ and ‘Molam Pooja’ were performed with the participation of senior Buddhist Gurus wishing that the departed soul may rest in peace.
Monastery Chief Guru Chhoki Ngima Rinpochhe send his special representative to the ceremony, who paid last tribute to the late Koirala by offering flowers, garlands, khada and cash, expressing heartfelt condolences to the entire bereaved family.
Buddhist Gurus Vikkhu Krishnaman, Chuyu Lama and Gun Sagar were at the stadium to pay last tributes to the late leader Koirala. His mortal remains have been placed at the Dashrath Stadium for last tributes. He is to be cremated with state honours as per the Hindu rituals this evening.
