UCPN (Maoist) to discuss intensely for unification



Kathmandu, April 29: The meeting of the Standing Committee of UCPN (Maoist) held today has decided to hold intense discussion among the split Maoist parties for unification.

The meeting held at UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s residence in Lazimpat in the capital city decided to further the discussion on the same to draw the conclusion at the earliest, according to UCPN (Maoist) Secretary-General Krishna Bahadur Mahara.

The meeting assessed that many issues erupted in the country, including threat to national sovereignty, due to the division in the Maoist party.

Lately, UCPN (Maoist) party has been holding consultations with leaders of CPN Revolutionary Maoist and Revolutionary Communist Party to unify the former parties with UCPN (Maoist).

“Further discussion on the meetings and deliberations on the unification process will hold and a logical conclusion will be drawn very soon,” shared UCPN (Maoist) Secretary-General Mahara.

“Our party has decided to intensify the discussion for party unification and polarization. We have also agreed to provide a meaningful outlet to the discussions held so far,” he added.

UCPN (Maoist) to make effort for national unity

Similarly, today’s meeting also concluded to hold meaningful dialogues with the major political parties to forge a national consensus and unity among them.

Secretary-General Mahara said that the meeting acknowledged that the UCPN (Maoist) could play major and effective role in various important national issues as effective implementation of new constitution and bringing on board the agitating Madhesh-centric political parties.

“The meeting has concluded that the national consensus and national unity are important for resolving the current national issues. For this to be achieved, a meaningful dialogue with all political parties is a must,” according to Mahara. RSS
