NC prez Deuba points out need to focus on village-centric development



Kathmandu, May 5: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba today stressed the need for focusing on village-centric development.

Referring to NC founder BP Koirala having stressed on village development during his time, he said that development of village will make a base for the development of the country as a whole.

Deuba was inaugurating 2nd national conference of BP Thought Academy in the Capital.

Also on the occasion, former Prime Minister and CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal remembers Koirala as a towering personality in Nepali politics.

The academy general secretary Debendra Poudel said that the total 250 representatives from across the country have participated in the three-day conference. He said that 50 volunteers have also been deployed.

He said that the convention will also discuss reports on development efforts of the country, democratic socialism, contents of the constitution, policies and programmes of BP thoughts, apart from discussing the amendment to academy’s statute. RSS
