Prez Bhandari’s India visit cancelled



Kathmandu, May 06: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari’s proposed visit to India has been cancelled on Friday. She was supposed to leave for the Indian Capital on May 9. This would have been her maiden official foreign trip after assuming the office of the head of state in October last year.

Earlier, President Bhandari had informed few reporters that the Cabinet is yet to endorse the schedule of her visit. According to her personal aide Bheshraj Adhikari, the tour had to be cancelled as the Cabinet could not make decision in time.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has corresponded Nepali Ambassador to India Deep Kumar Upadhyay about the cancellation of President’s tour, sources said.
