Country undergoes phases to intitutionalise republic, federal and inclusive:  DPM Nidhi



Kathmandu, Sept 1: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi today said that the country had adopted a new structure of democratic system.

He also said the country has undergone phases to institutionalise such new structures of democratic system like republic, federal, inclusive and mixed electoral system and secularism.

“To get these new structures institutionalised, Madhes issue should be resolved first through an amendment to the constitution. This will also pave the way for organising the tri-sets of elections,” he said.

He was speaking at a programme organised by the Democratic Thought Society to congratulate those ministers representing the Nepali Congress in the government.

The implementation of the constitution, the carrying out of post-quake reconstruction and conclusion of peace process are priorities of the government, the minister added.

Similarly on the occasion, Minister for Urban Development Arjun Narsingh KC said the ministry would work to construct infrastructures and manage drainage system, roads and maintain greenery in new towns and the villages in the process to turn into towns.

Likewise, Nabindra Raj Joshi said that homework was underway to resume various industries across the country closed due to various reasons.

Also, foreign affair expert Madhu Raman Acharya, administrative expert Jainendra Jiban, legal expert Upendra Keshari Neupane, medical doctor Anjani Kumar Jha, DTS President Dr Kedar Narsingh KC, Vice President and Chairman of the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) and journalist Gokarna Aryal among others spoke at the event.
