Task forces hold point-wise discussion



Kathmandu, Jan 7: The task forces began point-wise discussions on the demands of agitating Madhesi front. Separate task forces were formed to narrow dawn the demands of the agitating Madhesi-parties.

The meeting of the taskforces held at Singh Durbar today, began discussions on the issues, said NC leader Mahesh Acharya who is the member of the taskforce formed from the three major parties.He informed that the talks were positive so it could resolve the issues. The meeting agreed to brief the progress of the meeting by the member of the taskforce to their party senior leaders.

Leader Acharya added that they were discussing to form a political committee to address the province delineation issues.

However, Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party Vice Chairman Hridayesh Tripathi, also task force member, questioned mandate, credibility and validity of the political committee.

Saying that point-wise discussions on the demands of the front have started, he said that government’s preparations to address front’s demands did not seem positive.

The meeting was also attended by CPN-UML Vice Chairman and Deputy Prime Minister Bhim Rawal, UCPN (Maoist) General Secretary Krishna Bahadur Mahara and NC leader Acharya.

Likewise, from the front, TMLP Vice Chairman Tripathi, Sanghiya Samajwadi Vice Chairman Rajendra Shrestha and Tarai Madhes Sadbhawana Party Senior Leader Ram Naresh Raya participated in the meeting. The next meeting of the taskforces is scheduled for this afternoon itself.
