Attorney General Shrestha regins

KATHMANDU, Aug 13: Attorney General Raman Kumar Shrestha has resigned from his post on Sunday. He submitted his resignation after Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba requested him to step down from the post.

Shrestha, also a lawmaker from CPN (Maoist Center), was appointed to the post by the former Prime Minster Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

An attorney general is a legal adviser of prime minister, and is expected is quit as soon as the change in the government.

However, Shrestha has claimed that he delayed his resignation upon request from PM Deuba.
