Book on Narayan Gopal and Gopal Yonjan hits bookstands



KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Finance Minister Shankar Koirala, who is also a literary figure, today said that he was fed up with writing budget as writing poems and literary piece was his cup of tea.

Releasing a book named ‘Mitjyu’, at the Reporters Club here today, Koirala said, “I used to write poems, stories and songs. But, I am writing budget now. I have lost freedom in writing,” he said.  He also urged all to regard him as a literary figure as ministerial berth was a transitory step for him. On the occasion, Koirala said Nepal’s literary field was not developed as the state was taking music as an unproductive sector.

He also said that the government would bring some programmes for the betterment of arts, literature and music in the country. The book written by Laxman Sitaula on Narayan Gopal and Gopal Yonjan has included many interesting facts on the two veteran figures.
