CA elections in November 19: Prachanda

Prachanda welcomes a woman in the party in Butwal

BUTWAL: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said the high-level political committee can become flexible in the ongoing dialogue with the CPN-Maoist lead alliance only in the condition that the present government would hold the CA elections on November 19.

Speaking at a mass meeting organized by the party’s Awadh-Madesh State Committee in Butwal on Friday, Chairman Dahal said the agreement reached with the Upendra Yadav-led Federal Democratic Front on Thursday midnight has ensured that CA elections would be held as planned.

Similar agreement would soon be reached with the dissenting Federal Socialist Party, he added.

During the program, over 600 persons from different other parties joined the UCPN (Maoist).

Earlier, speaking at a press conference held at the Gautam Buddha Airport in Bhairahawa today, Chairman Dahal said that the elections would be held as scheduled.

“The agreement with the Federal Democratic Front yesterday has opened the door to elections and I am confident that Ashok Rai, Mohan Baidhya too would follow the same path to taking part in the elections”, he added.

Chairman Dahal arrived here to address the Awadh state-level gathering organized as part of the party’s people’s relations consolidation campaign.
