US Pacific Commander Harris pays visit to PM Dahal

KATHMANDU, March 21: Commander of US Pacific Command (USPACOM) Admiral B Harris  has paid visit to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal at latter's official residence at Baluwatar today. On the occasion, PM Dahal said that US Army's support to Nepal during aftermath of the April 2015 earthquake was an example of high level partnership between the two countries. He paid tribute to six US Army personnel who had lost their lives while rescuing quake affected people in the aftermath of the earthquake in Nepal and also extended condolences to the US Army and the bereaved families. PM's press advisor Govinda Acharya shared that the Prime Minister Dahal thanked US for her support in development, security and social reforms as both nations have enjoyed 70 years of bilateral ties. PM Dahal further expected cooperation in the days ahead from US. Similarly, Commander Harris stated that US and the US Army had friendly relations with Nepal, adding the US Army was getting education in Nepal Army's Command and Staff College and pursing training on Mountain warfare in Nepal.
