Government committed to providing relief to public: PM Dahal

Kathmandu, Sept 6: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said the government was conducting market monitoring on a daily basis to convenience people's need and supply of essential goods. The market monitoring has given positive results, he argued. PM Dahal said this while receiving a memorandum from the CPN (Maoist) led by Netrabikram Chand at his office, Singh Durbar Tuesday. "Efforts are underway to bring to book those fomenting black marketing and commission seeking," the PM said, adding that the government was committed to providing relief to the people. However, assistance was needed from outside to this regard, he stressed. "Your memorandum has made me aware again on the people's needs," the PM assured the delegation. Through the memorandum, the government has been demanded to provide 50 per cent discount on daily essentials including rice, pulse, cooking oil, flour, fruits, meats and species, said leader Dharmendra Bastola. Another Maoist leader joining the delegation, Santosh Budhamagar, said the PM was urged to heed the issues directly linked to people's daily life. Moreover, the delegation had demanded not to award development projects of Upper Karnali, Arun III hydropower to foreign countries but to the Nepali companies. RSS
