Change of party’s name on the cards : Kamal Thapa

KATHMANDU, May 12: Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal, Mr. Kamal Thapa has said that his party is ready to compromise its earlier stance on the revival of Hindu kingdom in order to ensure timely statute delivery from the upcoming 1st general convention.

Thapa has said the upcoming general convention which was slated to start from May 24, will rethink over the party’s earlier stands and will come up with ‘relevant’ ideas to establish lasting peace and development in the country. He said,”Although our identities and
ideologies are different from that of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, many mistake us for a splinter faction of the same party, since our names are similar,” he further said. “We do not want to share our identity with any other party. We have already come a long way further than RPP.” I hope this issue will be discussed in the session of the convention, Speaking at the interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Monday.

Thapa also said he would hand over the party’s leadership to the young leaders after four years. He further claimed  that after four years from now his party will establish the major and democratic force of the country, speaking at the interaction program presided by the Reporters’ Club Nepal’s president Rishi Dhamala.

Alleging that the three major party syndicate responsible for delay in lawmakers appointment from the cabinet. He blamed that if delaying the appointment of 26 lawmakers in the Constituent Assembly, the responsibility should have been given to the erstwhile government led by Khilraj Regmi. “The syndicate has spoiled it all as the three parties will never reach an agreement on the balanced distribution of the remaining CA seats,” he further claimed.

Although his party’s presence in the Constitution Assembly is poor,  his party will continue its struggle for establishing the agendas of constitutional monarchy and Hinduism, thapa said. Thapa stressed that the 1st general convention won’t change the main principle and ideology even they are going to amend some guidelines principle for making the party effective.

RPP-N’s general convention will start on May 24 at Khula Manch and will converge into closed session at Nepal Academy, Kamaladi, on May 25, 26 and 27 respectively. Thapa informed that there are 38 members in the committee for preparing political manifesto under his leadership.
