Civil society asks PM to ensure rights of suppressed community



Kathmandu, Aug 23: Civil society leaders from Lalitpur today morning called on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the latter’s official residence in Baluwatar.

During the meeting, they urged the PM to identify suppressed community and ensure their rights, said Deputy Personal Secretary to PM Dahal, Manohari Timilsina. They also congratulated and wished the PM a successful tenure.

In return, the PM said that he has got a challenging opportunity as his second reign as PM and that he has taken issues like identity and rights of suppressed community seriously, said Timilsina.

“On the occasion, the PM requested us to focus on retaining social identity and local development of Lalitpur,” said the delegation member journalist Sunil Maharjan.

The delegation included representatives from Tamrakar Samaj, Bauddha Youth Committee and the Federation of Nepal Rastriya Yuwa among others. RSS
