KATHMANDU, Oct 23: Nepali Congress leader Dr Narayan Khadka has said that the alliance between CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) was just for ascending to power.

Speaking during an interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Monday, leader Khadka asserted that NC should not be worried from the communist alliance.

He said, “The alliance is only for serving petty interest. It will not last long.” The NC leader further said that alliance of political ideology and principle however was necessary for country’s development.

Also the former Urban Development Minister, Khadka, noted that the CPN (Maoist Centre) has no meaning to remain in the government after making alliance with the main opposition party.

Likewise, CPN (Maoist Centre) leader Haribol Gajurel said that the communist parties formed the alliance as per the necessity of the country. He clarified that the parties having communist thoughts had to stand together for the formation of stable government.
Leader of the Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal, Keshav Jha, said that there would be alliance with democratic forces in the elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies.
Jha said, “Discussion with Federal Socialist Forum Nepal is underway. We will hold discussion with NC for the same.”
