Constitution amendment proposal by mid November : DPM Nidhi



Kathmandu, Nov 8: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi has said that a proposal for the constitution amendment would be registered at the parliament by mid-November.

Inaugurating a building of the Mandali Primary School based in Dhola, Dhading on Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister Nidhi shared that discussion was held with all political parties including main opposition CPN-UML on constitution amendment proposal.”The amendment to the constitution is mandatory for holding three tiers of election and for the implementation of the constitution”, he noted.

DPM Nidhi further said that the constitution would be in crisis if there were no elections by January 20, 2018. He went on saying that the constitution amendment proposal includes border demarcation, formation of National Assembly, language commission and citizenship.

The government is not satisfied with the work of the National Reconstruction Authority, he said,adding that the government has directed the Authority to update the list of earthquake survivors, distribute Rs 300,000 each to earthquake affected people and expedite the reconstruction works without any delay.
