FNJ will be developed as an umbrella organization: newly appointed Chair Acharya



KATHMANDU, Aug 22: Newly elected Chairperson of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Govinda Acharya, has said that the FNJ would be developed as an umbrella organisation during his next three-year leadership.

At a program organized in Kathmandu on Tuesday to congratulate to newly elected executive committee of FNJ, Acharya pledged to devise action-plans that would ensure FNJ to be an umbrella organization of all the journalists in the country in a real sense.

Also speaking at the program, newly elected Vice-Chairperson Bipul Pokharel expressed his solidarity with President Acharya’s commitment to develop FNJ as a common platform for all the media persons across the country.

He also affirmed his commitment to help resolve the issues relating to the working journalists during his stint as the Vice-Chairperson.

Former Chairmen of FNJ Dr Suresh Acharya and Taranath Dahal, advisor Poshan KC, Nepal Press Union President Badri Sigdel, Press Centre Nepal President Maheshwor Dahal, President of the Federation of Progressive Journalists, Narayan Sharma, among others urged the newly elected 45-member executive committee of FNJ for ensuring welfare of the working journalists.

Of the total 1,508 voters, only 1,449 votes were cast. More than 10,000 journalists across the country are associated with FNJ. RSS
