Football transfer rumours and gossip: Man Utd turn down £60m David De Gea bid from Real

David

LONDON, June 1: It wouldn’t be the summer break if David De Gea and Real Madrid weren’t paired together in the same sentence.

Today’s rumour involving the Spaniard and the Spanish giants sees Sky sources reporting that Manchester United have turned down a £60m bid for the goalkeeper.

De Gea’s Old Trafford deal still has two years left to run, with an option of a further 12 months, and according to Sky’s report, he still remains happy at United.

It’s not the money that will prove the stumbling block in negotiations. The Champions League finalists and La Liga champions have money to burn, it seems, with another rumour doing the rounds this morning.

The Sun claims that Real will break the bank to sign Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard and are prepared to pay out a staggering £100m to get their man.

The story says that Madrid insiders claim that there have been “no fewer than three separate meetings this year’ between club representatives and Hazard’s camp.

Not only that, it goes on to say how tactics and discussions about his role in the team have already been talked about with Hazard promised to become Real’s advanced playmaker.

Away from the Bernabeu, and the Mirror claim that Manchester United and Tottenham are both keen on Fulham’s young left-back Ryan Sessegnon.

At just 17-years-old, Sessegnon would be a purchase for the future and could mean that Luke Shaw’s role isn’t under threat just as yet. Liverpool have also been keeping track of the teenager.

Over to Goodison Park and Everton are closing in on the signing of full-back Cuco Martina from Southampton.

Ronald Koeman requires a new right-back with Seamus Coleman still facing a lengthy time on the sidelines after breaking a leg. The Independent believe Martina, who Koeman signed during his Southampton days in 2015, is the man for the job and would be available on a free transfer.

Antonio Conte has outlined six signings he wants to make this summer to strengthen the champions’ hand. The Independent say that Tiemoue Bakayoko is one of those six with Chelsea willing to spend £42m to sign the defensive midfielder.

That could see Nemanja Matic free to move to United and become reunited with manager Jose Mourinho.

Matic would very much love to see a switch come off. The Manchester Evening News believe that the 28-year-old has discussed linking up his his former Chelsea manager again.

le, the Daily Mail report that Pep Guardiola is also interested in Monaco defender Benjamin Mendy and striker Kylian Mbappe, although the latter’s £113m valuation means City are unlikely to compete with Real Madrid unless the price comes down.

The Mail also suggest England goalkeeper Joe Hart is seeking guarantees of first-team football at his next club, with City looking to offload the 30-year-old for £20m.-THE TELEGRAPH
