Gajurel rolls out condition for unification

Kathmandu, May 07. CPN-Maoist Vice-Chairman CP Gajurel said that unification with the UCPN-Maoist is possible only of the latter accepted their leadership and political policies, among other demands forwarded by his party.

Gajurel has said that unity with the mother party is possible if the Prachanda led party will accept his party’s policy, leadership of Chairman Mohan Baidhya and a 6-point proposal recently floated by the politburo meeting of the CPN-Maoist, speaking at an interaction organised by the Reporters Club Nepal on Wednesday.

Alleging the UCPN-M Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ of spreading fake rumours that the both parties were going to unite soon, Gajurel clarified that  there has been no understanding has ever been reached among the two parties concerning unification, speaking at the interaction program presided by the Reporters’ Club Nepal’s president Rishi Dhamala.

Gajurel claimed that Prachanda had spread the rumour to intimidate his intra party rival Dr Baburam Bhattarai.

He stresses that the chances of unification with the mother party are slightly as the latter has not brought any changes
of existing principles taken after the Hetauda convention. Gajurel criticized the recent power struggles within the UCPN-Maoist, claiming that the intra-party disputes are for the leadership of the party, rather than for a long-term policy for national development. But he opined his view that his party is discussing the party unification with Pari Thapa led CPN-Unified party  & Revolutionary Communist Party led by Mani Thapa.

He has also claimed that the UCPN-Maoist is on the verge of dissolution. He further stresses that the intra party rival Dr Baburam Bhattarai and Prachanda have not come to close for status rather than any principles.

Gajurel has said that the  constitution and the government should be dissolved. He further demands the round table conference which he sought to be convened to bail the country out from the existing crisis.
