Govt recommends ambassadors to India and US



KATHAMNDU, Jan 16 : The government has recommended its ambassadors to India and United states of America.

A cabinet meeting held on Friday recommended Deep Kumar Upadhaya as Nepal’s Ambassador to India and Dr. Arjun karki as Ambassador to United States of America.

Upadhyay is a Nepali Congress aligned political activist. He lost to UML’s Balaram Adhikari in the second Constitution Assembly election from Kapilvastu-1 under the first-past-the-post electoral system while Karki is close to CPN-UML, is a former president of a non-government organisation called ‘Rural Reconstruction Nepal’.

The nominees will be sent to the respective countries for agreemo after the parliamentary hearing approves them.
