Home Minister Sharma appeals all voters to cast vote confidently

KATHMANDU, June 26: Minister for Home Affairs Janardan Sharma has appealed all the voters to cast votes confidently in the June 28 polls as there was no weakness from the security point of view.

“We have deployed all three security agencies in three circles and we have taken all necessary measures to ensure no any unpleasant activities will take place during the polling,” he said while speaking during an interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Monday.

Sharma, who has been busy lately addressing rallies in districts of Terai-Madhes in view of security arrangements and conditions, said, “I have been to all three provinces. I have held meetings with the concerned authorities and stakeholders. Paying attention to the sensitivity of the local levels, we have improvised the security measures.”

“An utmost care has been given to provide security to voters. Therefore, I appeal one and all voters to participate in the second round of election without any fear and hesitation, and use their voting rights,” he added.

He also requested all the political parties not to conduct any barred activities such as publicity campaigns during the silent period and let the voters decide who to vote.

Stating that election in Province 2 was deferred in understanding with Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN) he added,

Responding to a media person’s inquiry concerning RJPN and Biplop Maoist’s activities and efforts to disrupt polls he said, “Some RJPN cadres and leaders are also contesting as independent candidate in the upcoming poll. Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplop’ led CPN Maoist’s leaders are participating. Therefore no force could disrupt polls.”

“The round two of local election will be a success,” he expressed his confidence.
