Five Madhes-centric parties merge, new party named ‘Rastriya Janata Party’ (With Photo feature)

KATHMANDU, April 20: Five Madhes-centric parties associated with United Democratic Madhesi Front have announced their merger on Thursday.

Terai Madhes Loktantrik Party led by Mahtha Thakur, Sadhbhawana Party led by Rajendra Mahato, Terai-Madhes Sadbhawana Party led by Mahendra Raya Yadav, Rastirya Madhes Samajwadi Party led by Sarat Singh Bhandari and Madhesi People’s Rights Forum (Republic) led by Raj Kishor Yadav sealed their unification deal at Amritvog Party Palace located in Kalikasthan, Kathmandu.

The new party has been named as ‘Rastriya Janata Party’. Meanwhile, the word ‘Madhes’ have been removed from the party name. They have also decided ‘Umbrella’ as their party symbol. Photo: Mukunda Kalikote
