‘Prachanda should handover the government to Deuba today’
KATHMANDU, May 15: Nepali Congress leader Shekhar Koirala has said that Prime MInister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ should hand over the government to Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba today since the first phase local level election was completed.
Talking to journalist Rishi Dhamala at a radio program Koirala said, “PM Dahal should resign and hand over the government to NC President Deuba as agreed. Deuba government will hold the second phase local polls.”
He also said that NC would address the concerns of Madhesi leaders.
Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Center) had agreed that Dahal and Deuba each would lead the government for nine months before concluding three tiers of election by January 2018 while forging alliance in early August last year.
As per the agreement, Dahal should have handed over the post in the third week of April. But NC had agreed to wait for one more month with the condition that Dahal would hold local level elections.
