House obstruction continues on 4 time,

Kathmandu, June 04. Parliamentary proceedings were halted for the fourth time a straight day on Wednesday following obstruction from the major opposition party.

The UCPN (Maoist) has been obstructing the proceedings of Parliament since Friday demanding the implementation of the four-point pact which was inked between political parties after the November Constituent Assembly elections last year.

Speaking at the House session today, UCPN (M) lawmaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has accused the prime minister of not being serious towards addressing his party’s demands. Sapkota added that his party was flexible on resuming the House proceedings. Major parties’ efforts to address the problem through dialogue have not been successful so far as both the sides have remained firm on their respective stance.

The next session of the House has been called for Sunday 5 pm.
