House of Representatives to get full shape only after Feb 19

KATHMANDU, Jan 14:
The Election Commission has intensified the preparations to hold the elections to the National Assembly members for giving final shape to the federal parliament.

EC Spokesperson Nawaraj Dhakal informed that the activities as registration of political parties, making public the election schedule, appointment of election officers, and establishment of the office of the election officers have been over.

With the establishment of the election offices, the provincial assemblies would be responsible for the operation and management of the elections. Similarly, the district judges under the High Court of the province have been appointed as the election officers. For it, the voting centres have been set up in Morang, Dhanusha, Lalitpur, Pokhara, Dang, Surkhet and Doti districts.

The district judges and employees to be mobilized for the election of the provincial assemblies are being provided orientation on entire process of election ranging from printing of ballot papers to vote count.

Moreover, the Spokesperson informed that EC was carrying out its duty in line with constitution. It’s not delaying at all.
He also drew the attention of the government and political parties to expedite the process on appointment of the province chiefs.

The result of the voting for provincial assembly member would be announced just a day after the appointment of the province chiefs.

With the announcement of the result of the election to National Assembly members, the seats of proportional elections under the House of Representative would be allocated. So, the House of Representatives would get full shape only after February 19. RSS
