Indian ambassador Rae embarks on five-day visit to Manang

Besishahar (Manang), Aug 26: Indian ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae today embarked on a five-day visit to the trans-Himalaya district, Manang.

Ambassador Rae reached the district to inspect and monitor the Tarey Monastery under construction with financial support of around Rs 30 million from the Indian Embassy in Nepal, it has been learnt.

Rae landed in Manang at 10:45am today by a helicopter. Although the ambassador was scheduled to land in remote village Phu, the programme was cancelled due to bad weather condition, said Chief District Officer Ganja Bahadur MC.

During his stay in the district, the ambassador is scheduled to visit the Ice Lake, historic Milareppa’s Cave and Gangapurna of Manang, he said, adding that he will also inspect the Tarey Monastery. RSS
