Indian PM Modi pledges to provide support in local-level elections

KATHMANDU, April 26: The Indian government has pledged to provide with full support to Nepal’s bid for holding local-level elections scheduled for coming May 14.

In a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on Tuesday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed the commitment that India would provide full support to Nepal’s efforts for conducting civic polls, said PM Dahal’ s Press Advisor, Govinda Acharya.

Indian Prime Minister Modi rang up his counterpart Dahal at 4:00 pm and wished for the success of local-level elections.

On the occasion, the Indian PM said that Nepal’s Prime Minister Dahal has become successful to go to election by bringing all political forces to consensus and that there would be full support and good will of the India government to that end.

PM Dahal thanked Indian Prime Minister Modi for his commitment of support noting that the government would fully implement the constitution by holding the elections on the slated date, said Acharya quoting PM Dahal as saying. RSS
