Saptari

JAJARKOT, APR 20: Death toll from seasonal flue reached to 25 in Jajarkot district after a man succumbed to the illness on Sunday. Dhane Damai from Matela, Garkhakot-1 of the district died on Sunday morning.

Though the government agencies have been claiming that the outbreak has come under control, the disease has been spreading to more villages in the district. Impacts of the outbreak in Paink village, where as many as 10 persons had died, however, have been reduced. Locals have complained that absence of sufficient doctors and medicines has fuelled spread of the disease.

Whereas around 3,000 persons received needful treatment, around 4,000 are awaiting doctors. Government-run health posts in Archhani, Jagatipur and Majhkot villages have also run short of medicines, they added.

Various government and non-government agencies have established health camps in the villages.

But, serious patients are unable to visit the camps and health facilities, according to Bishnu Nepali of Talegaun.

Meanwhile, doctors deployed in Archhani, Talegaun and Paink villages returned to district headquarters even though the disease was not controlled.
