Local body election within 5 months: Minister Karki

BIRATNAGAR, Jan 15: Minister for Information and Communications Surendra Kumar Karki has said that the local body elections will be held within next five months.
Talking to media persons at Biratnagar airport on today, Minister Karki, who is also spokesperson for the government, said, “The date for the polls will be set after a mutual agreement among political parties in this regard.”

In a question that whether the local body polls would be organized under the new federal setup, he said, “The elections are the need of the hour and local levels have been made more powerful.”

He also said that all the demands and issues of Madhes could not be met at once.
