Makar Sankranti & Maghi festival may foster harmony among the Nepalis:Dr. Mahato

KATHMANDU, Jan 15: Former member of the parliament and renowned entrepreneur of Nepal Dr. Birendra Prasad Mahato has extended best wishes to all Nepali sisters and brothers at home and abroad on the occasion of the MakarSankrati and the Maghi festival.

In the greetings he extended today, Dr. Mahato said, “Nepal’s typical festivals have helped further promote national unity by consolidating mutual ties and unity among various castes and communities.”

Mahato has wished peace, happiness and prosperity to all Nepalis on the occasion of the festival.  He expressed his hope that the festival would foster harmony, tolerance and unity among the Nepalis. On the occasion of the Maghi, the festival of the Tharu community, the PM has stated that the Nepal’s constitution has guaranteed the Tharu Commission for their welfare.

“Nepal is a beautiful country characterized by ethnic, linguistic, cultural and religious diversities. The Nepal’s constitution has ensured enough provisions for the development and promotion of all’s cultures and religions by adopting the principle of inclusive democracy,” he said in the best wishes.
