Naya Shakti won’t participate in local poll without an election symbol

KATHMANDU, April 20: Leader of Naya Shakti Party Devendra Poudel has said that his party would not participate in the local poll unless his party is an election symbol is provided.

“We had forwarded six-points condition to participate in the local poll. We had already completed our preparation in all 744 local levels. But the Local Level Election Act 2017 disallowed us to compete under an election symbol. We demonstrated and demanded against the Election Commission’s decision but yet the Act has not been revised,” he said speaking during an interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Thursday.

He also viewed that holding local level election in two phases would be a great mistake.
