Nepal finish third in ICCT-20 World Cup Cricket Tournament



Kathmandu: Nepal, who for the first time was selected in the ICC T-20 World Cup Cricket Championship, has finished third in the tournament, beating United Arab Emirates (UAE) by five wickets.
Nepal outdid UAE in the stipulated 20 overs with four balls to spare in the match for the third place held at Abu Dhabi, UAE, today.
Nepal who won the toss and chose fielding first made 133 runs in the stipulated overs, surpassing the target by two runs.
UAE had made 131 runs in the stipulated 20 overs at the loss of five wickets. Sharad Bheswakar amassed 43 runs for Nepal undefeated and Subash Khakurel 38 runs.
Similarly, Sagar Pun made 19 runs, Anil Mandal 13, Gyanendra Malla four runs while skipper Paras Khadka made mere two runs.
Basanta Regmi was declared the Man of the Match. In the last edition of the championship, Nepal had finished in the seventh place.
Nepal will get the third place from among the associate states in the 20-20 World Cup Cricket Championship to be held in Bangladesh in 2014.
