No Nepal bandh on Monday

KATHMANDU: Despite their announcements earlier, the 33 political parties including the CPN-Maoist have withdrawn the program of general shutdown called for Monday, confirmed CPN-Maoist leader Amrita Thapa Magar.

The strike was called off by keeping the celebration of Rato Machhiendranath Festival of the Newari Community in mind, she said.

The fringe political had announced the program of general shutdown to protest the appointment of Lokman Singh Karki as the chief of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) and ‘monopoly’ of four major political parties.

The fringe parties have also protested the current government stating this was unconstitutional.
