No reason to postpone elections: UML leader Rawal

KATHMANDU, March 20: CPN (UML) vice-chair Bhim Rawal said that there was no reason to postpone the local poll in pretext of any one party boycotting it.

“The election can not be postponed or stopped in excuse of any party boycotting it,” he said speaking during a face to face interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal presided by Club’s president Rishi Dhamala today.

In another note, leader Rawal said that the government should quit if the election was not held in the stipulated date.

He condemned the vandalizing the office of local bodies set up as per new federal set up by Madhes-centric parties.

Similarly, speakin in the program Nepali Congress leader Dr Ram Sharan Mahat opined for forwarding constitution amendment process and elections side by side.

Leader Mahat further suggested holding local poll in previous set up if there was problem in new set up.

He also urged the the government to create environment for Madhes-based parties to participate in the upcoming election.
