Norway to provide support forNepal’s socio-economic development

KATHMANDU, July 10: Norway has expressed commitments to provide possible support for socio-economic development of Nepal.

The commitment was made during a meeting between Norwegian Ambassador to Nepal, Kjell Tormod Petersen, and Speaking Onsari Gharti when the latter paid a courtesy call on the former.

Petersen is returning home after completing his four-year term as Norwegian ambassador to Nepal.

Ambassador Petersen told the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) that they discussed the relations between Nepal and Norway and different issues of mutual interest. They also discussed the two-rounds of local-level election recently concluded.

On the occasion, Speaker Gharti said that Nepal was heading towards political stability gradually, achievements of democracy were being institutionalised and Nepal was on the way to guarantee social justice while ensuring economic prosperity, said the Ambassador quoting Speaker Gharti as saying.

Ambassador Petersen said that he informed Speaker Gharti that Norway has wanted to invite Nepali political delegation to attend Parliamentary election of Norway to be held in September. RSS
