NSU general convention deferred indefinitely

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Students Union (NSU) has deferred its general convention indefinitely on Thursday.

The convention was scheduled to kick off on Saturday.

The 11th general convention was prorogued with mother party’s run-up in the nomination of party candidates for the November 19 elections.

In a press statement, NSU president Ranjit Karna said that the convection was put off as conferences in some districts, campuses and universities are yet to be held.

The NSU, student wing of the Nepali Congress (NC), further said that the decision was made upon the request of its mother party.

Stating that the new date for the convention will be fixed soon, the NSU has directed all its cadres to hold conferences in the remaining campuses, universities and districts.
