Paras Shah back from Bangkok

KATHMANDU, Apr 3: Former crown prince Paras Shah, who had been living in Bangkok for the past three years, returned to Kathmandu on Thursday.

Around 500 supporters and well wishers turned up at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) to receive Shah and chanted slogans in favour of the monarchy.

However, none of his family members were present at TIA. Shah was released from a jail in Bangkok on Tuesday, who was held on the charge of possessing illegal drugs. He was imprisoned on October 14.

His father and former king Gyanendra Shah, however, did not let him stay at Nirmal Niwas because of his family problems, pending legal issues and bad health conditions.

After his arrival, Shah directly went to Dhumbarai-based Kundalini Health Club. Shah has come for his nephew’s Bratabandha, which is all set to be held at Soltee Crowne Plaza on April 18.  It’s not confirmed whether or not Shah will be flying back to Bangkok.
