Gachhadar

KATHMANDU, March 11: Nepali Congress parliamentary deputy-leader, Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, has said his party was not in the position of supporting the left government headed by CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli, as the presence of opposition was vital in the parliamentary practice.

In his address to a meeting of the House of Representatives Sunday, leader Gachchhadar ruled out the possibility of the existence of parliament without opposition. However, the party would have its support to the government action plan for economic prosperity.

Stating that the NC’s role and response in the parliament as the main opposition would be based on the government activities, he wished for the successful tenure of Prime Minister Oli.

Gachchhadar went on to say that no works against the constitution and democratic norms and values would be tolerated, pledging to play a role of constructive opposition in the House.

According to him, the constitution had empowered the people and expressed his happiness over successful completion of the three-tier elections which was significant in view of the enforcement of the constitution. RSS
