Protest continues over appointments in Dadeldhura



DADELDHURA, March 24: Demanding that the government revoke appointment of staff in Higher Secondary Education Board in Dadeldhura a month ago, demonstrators burnt an effigy of Education Minister Chitra Lekha Yadav and obstructed vehicular movement for an hour at district headquarters Baghkhor today.A team led by CPN-UML district chairperson Tara Joshi started the demonstration from Tufandanda and marched round the headquarters and burnt the effigy at the bus park.

Protesting against the security force’s intervention in a peaceful sit-in protest in front of District Administration Office yesterday, they demanded the resignation of Minister of Home Affairs, Chief District Officer and District Police Chief.

As many as 12 security personnel and seven demonstrators had sustained injuries in the clash yesterday.

According to demonstrators, their protest will continue as long as HSEB doesn’t appoint staff in a transparent and fair manner.

CPN-UML, UCPN-Maoist, Rastriya Janamorcha, RPP-Nepal and RPP among other parties, along with their sister organisations have been jointly leading the agitation for the past few days.
