RPP will vote against the proposed amendment bill: President Thapa



KATHMANDU, Jan 6: President of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Kamal Thapa has said they will vote against the government-proposed constitution amendment bill.

Apprehending the memorandum submitted by the president of Reporters’ Club Nepal, Rishi Dhamala at the central office of the party today, Former Deputy Prime Minister Thapa opined to forge political consensus first before forwarding the amendment bill in the current situation.

“The amendment bill must not be proceeded without consensus between the parties in the current situation in its current form. Thus, our party is against such amendment business.”

He added, “People from province 5 are protesting against the revising of constitution, CPN-UML have obstructed the House, some clauses of the bill do not accord the national progress. Thus, It is a must at the very situation that the political parties come to an understanding first before passing the amendment in its current form.”
