Separate highway accidents kill 5 in Nepal



KATHMANDU: Five persons lost their lives in Nepal on separate road accidents on Saturday night and Sunday morning.

In Bhojpur, three persons were killed and three others were injured when a tractor skidded off the road on Sunday morning, police officials informed.

The deceased have been identified as, Narayan Thapa (15), Nanda Maya Thapa (17) and Milan Thapa (12) of Homtang of the district. They died on the spot.

Identity of those injured in the accident has not been confirmed yet, though reports claimed that they were undergoing treatment at a local health facility.

Two motorcyclists died in a separate accident in Banke district on Saturday night when their motorcycle collided head on with bullock-cart.

Deceased, Santu Tharu and Hira Lal Chaudhary of Titahari in Banke district collided with the bullock-cart coming from opposite direction at at Ramnagar in Kohalpur on Saturday late night.

While Tharu died on the spot, pillion rider Chaudhary died while undergoing treatment at the Nepalgunj based Kohalpur-based Medical College.
