Temporary police to get more than Rs 60 thousands allowance

KATHMANDU, April 20: A Cabinet meeting on Thursday has decided to provide Rs 51,000 salary to each temporary police staffers during his/her job in the upcoming local level election.

They would also be provided Rs 7,100 for uniforms. Similarly, a special allowance of Rs 250 per day for the total of seven days including voting day would also be given to the temporary cops.

Also, each of the staffers would get an accident insurance of Rs 200,000 and health insurance of Rs 150,000.

A total 75,000 temporary cops have been recruited for the May 14 elections.
