Temporary teachers stage sit-in outside PM’s residence



KATHMANDU, June 20: Temporary Teachers Struggle Committee has today staged sit-in in front of the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar, demanding permanency of all temporary teachers across the nation through normal process.

The Committee has announced the protest from June 18 demanding to scrap the discriminatory vacancy announcements and to count their service period.

Some 500 temporary teachers had participated in the sit-in staged from 9:00 -11:00 am this morning.
Struggle Committee Coordinator Brinda Das Chaudhary urged the government to temporary teachers permanent through normal process as they have spent their energetic time in teaching profession.

Similarly, Coommittee General Secretary Kumodlal Karna said that there are now 26,163 temporary teachers across the country.

Meanwhile, five temporary teachers are staging hunger-strike at Bhadrakali from June 16 to exert pressure on the government to address their demands. RSS
